Dear Friends,

The Diocesan Council of the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia boldly requests your generosity for the restoration of Saint Tikhon's House in San Francicso, California.

Saint Tikhon’s House was founded by Saint John of Shanghai and San Francicso the Wonderworker for his orphans in December of 1934, and brought to California on January 25, 1951.

Today Saint Tikhon's House is repurposed as the home of a small parish community and as the Diocesan Chancellery -- with attending offices and archives, and most significantly has become an international point of pilgrimage for all who venerate the memory of Saint John and seek his intercession.

St John's monastic cell has been preserved on site and is open to visitors.

The Church implores your almsgiving that we may speedily raise the necessary funds to preserve this important building, bequeathing its spiritual and ecclesiastical riches to future generations.

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7).
